Almost three weeks ago we were heading into town to get some water when we met this scene at the bottom of the mountain.

This was the start of almost three weeks of bushfires and stress.

This small fire near the Sarabah Rd turnoff became one of the biggest threats to us since we have been here

Sarabah Bushfire

We are in the middle of a declared drought and we have not had rain since March this year.  The forest is drying out, trees and plants are dying all around us.  The wallabies and birds are starting to disappear too, as their feed dries up and dies.

Now was not the time for a Bush Fire.

The images below show the progression of the fire thru the first week of September

I just realised I have a lot to tell in this story and don’t even have the images ready..  To be continued.
